Taiwan Tour, Day 4

Yesterday we had the unique opportunity to perform at a fancy hotel with some students while Jennifer attends a family wedding in Taipei. It was fun to rehearse and perform some of our quartet repertoire with these students and see them get excited about playing with us. At first we were only going to do our Mozart, but another student asked if he could play our Piazzola with us too! Both students sounded great and I was very impressed that they could learn the parts and be comfortable playing with us so quickly.

We have also been giving some private lessons the past few days! MuChen also gave a masterclass on Bach. It's been really cool for us to connect with this community in so many different ways, performing, playing together, and teaching. I had some friends help translate my private lessons, and it was really rewarding to watch the kids catch on to what I was saying so quickly, often even without the translation. That saying is true -- music is the universal language.
